Cacie Miller has long relied on the sounds and repertoire of the piano to help make sense of the world. She is drawn to colorful storytelling and, especially, to a sense of pushing through the bounds of reality.
The project Composing Our Climate grew out of Cacie’s doctoral research on sustainable cultural practices. It focuses on performer-driven commissioned chamber works composed as emotional reckonings with the climate crisis.
This solo show features the Chicago premiere of Brian Field’s suite Three Passions for Our Tortured Planet, along with other solo works that elaborate and work through climate-related themes in subtle and overt ways.
